This 12V Dynator unit replaces the Lucas C47 and is suitable for negative earth applications. It has an output of 65A compared to 30A of the original and weighs 5.9kg. The C47 is a fairly rare unit and was fitted to a few larger cars such as Roll Royces and Bentleys of the 1950's and 60's.
To ensure that the dynamo on your vehicle is a C47, it should be stamped with 'C47' on the case. If you cannot find this, check the distance between the mounting flanges, it should be approximately 185mm and the diameter of the body 4.7" (119mm).
- Diameter 4.7" (119mm)
- Internal mounting flange distance (Dim A) 185mm
- Shaft diameter 17mm
- 65A output
- 3 Year warranty
These units are fitted with a cooling fan and a choice of two pulleys (which cover the majority of applications). Either:
- 90mm diameter to take 2 x 10mm belts (Pulley LMP023) or:
- 99mm diameter to take a single 16mm wide belt (Pulley LMP061).
Electrical connection to the vehicle is easy and straight forward using the original dynamo control box as a junction box. Fitting instructions are given in the downloads section below. Alternatively, the original voltage control box can be removed and replaced with a fused dummy control box, which can be used as a suitable junction box to easily connect the Dynator to the vehicles wiring.
